Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Levels Serious Allegation Against Congress MP

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi of misconduct, escalating political tensions in the state.

The Assam Chief Minister alleged that Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an official function in Guwahati, CM Himanta said that the government has documentary evidence to support this claim and after proper verification, every evidence will be presented before the public by September 10.

The CM claimed, "Gaurav Gogoi went to Pakistan on the invitation of ISI. I am saying this for the first time. We have documents for this. He did not go for tourism purposes. He definitely went there to get training. He was working in collaboration with Pakistan's establishment. When does the Home Department send an invitation? It is only for training.

CM Himanta said, an invitation from Foreign Affairs (Department) or any university is a completely different thing. He went there on a direct invitation from the Home Department of Pakistan. The government has evidence of Gogoi's actions. The CM further said that all ways of escape for Gogoi have been closed. We have seen the evidence.
