Bhagwant Mann Taunts PM Modi, Ministry Calls It Irresponsible

Bhagwant Mann Takes a Jibe at PM Modi’s Foreign Tour; Ministry Terms Remarks as Irresponsible

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, without naming him, criticized PM Modi's recent foreign tours. After this, the Ministry of External Affairs has termed the criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign visits by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as irresponsible.

The ministry, without naming Mann, said on Thursday that the Government of India dissociates itself from the inappropriate comments made by a high state authority, which has weakened India's relations with friendly countries.

Bhagwant Mann had said this

Bhagwant Mann had criticized the Prime Minister's recently concluded visit to five countries Brazil, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina and Namibia. Mann, in a media briefing, had accused PM Modi that he does not live in a country with 140 crore people, but visits countries with a population of 10,000. In India, 10,000 people gather to watch a JCB at work. What trouble have they gotten themselves into?

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson issues statement
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We have seen certain comments made by a high state authority regarding India's relations with friendly countries of the Global South. These comments are irresponsible and regrettable and do not befit a government authority.
