Cabinet Reshuffle Likely in Rajasthan: CM Bhajanlal Sharma Meets PM Modi, Talks on Governance and Political Appointments

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday — officially described by the CMO as a “courtesy call” — has sparked intense speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle and upcoming political appointments in the state.

Talks on Cabinet and Governance

According to sources, discussions during the meeting went beyond formalities, covering matters related to cabinet restructuring, party organisation, and the state government’s overall performance. The meeting has drawn parallels with the recent Gujarat reshuffle, where the entire cabinet was asked to resign before a fresh lineup was introduced.

Two Years of Bhajanlal Government

The Bhajanlal Sharma-led BJP government will complete two years in office on December 15, and reports suggest that the leadership may consider changes to reinvigorate governance ahead of the milestone.

During the meeting, the CM reportedly briefed the Prime Minister about key initiatives and progress made under his administration. He also extended an invitation to PM Modi for the upcoming ‘Rajasthani Pravasi Diwas’, scheduled for December 10, highlighting it as a major event to connect with the global Rajasthani diaspora.

Third Meeting in Three Months

This was Bhajanlal Sharma’s third meeting with PM Modi in the last three months. He had previously met the Prime Minister at Parliament House on July 29, just a day after former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also held a meeting with PM Modi.

Later, on September 25, PM Modi visited Banswara, where he shared the stage with both Bhajanlal Sharma and Vasundhara Raje. Their cordial interaction during the event — especially a widely circulated video of PM Modi greeting Raje — had triggered political discussions about evolving dynamics within the BJP’s Rajasthan unit.
