Congress Leaders Pay Tribute on Rajesh Pilot's 25th Death Anniversary

25th Death Anniversary of Rajesh Pilot: On the 25th death anniversary of former Union Minister Rajesh Pilot, an all-religion prayer meeting was organized at the memorial located at Zerota-Bhandana on National Highway-21 near Dausa district headquarters. Senior Congress leaders from across the state attended it. Rajesh Pilot's wife and former MP Rama Pilot and Sachin Pilot were present in the tribute meeting.

It is worth noting that former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also reached there. It is believed that many senior party leaders from Delhi also reached this program. To pay tribute to Rajesh Pilot, a short film based on his life was shown at the venue. After which two minutes of silence was observed for the peace of the soul.

At the same time, State Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasara along with 12 MLAs, 7 MLA candidates, one MP and 3 MP candidates and many officials of the State Congress Committee reached Bhadana. While Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also reached the venue. Barmer MP Ummedram Beniwal, former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and Sangaria MLA Abhimanyu Poonia also reached with him.

Died in a road accident

Rajesh Pilot died in a road accident on the National Highway on the evening of 11 June 2000. Pilot was driving the car then and he was accompanied by two other people including the then MLA of Sikrai Mahendra Meena and Congress District President Ramjilal Odh. While going to Jaipur Airport, a roadways bus came in front of the car while overtaking a truck near Bhandaana. To avoid it, the pilot turned the car a little to the left, but while trying to avoid another vehicle coming from that side in the rain, the roadways bus hit the car on the driver's side. The car overturned on the highway with a bang. Rajesh Pilot and his security guard died in the accident.
