Congress MLA RV Deshpande Refuses to Apologize

After making controversial remarks on a female journalist, Congress MLA RV Deshpande said his statement was misinterpreted and declined to issue an apology.
Senior Congress MLA RV Deshpande, who gave a 'delivery' reply to a female journalist in Karnataka, has refused to apologize and said that his comment was misinterpreted.
The former Karnataka minister, who was on a visit to Joida in Uttara Kannada district, was asked when the people of the region will get a super-speciality hospital, as many people, especially pregnant women, are suffering due to the lack of it.
He replied, "We will get your delivery done in Haliyal."
When the shocked journalist asked him what he said, Deshpande shamelessly said, "When the time for your delivery comes, we will get it done."
Deshpande refuses to apologise
And for a multi-speciality hospital in this area for years. He has been an MLA from there seven times. For any serious case, patients have to go out of Uttara Kannada region."
Hiregoudar said, "I was very hurt by his comment. I did not say anything then because I did not want to spoil the atmosphere there. But when I reached my news channel office, I decided to make him apologise. He should apologise to every woman who died during delivery in this area."
Criticising him for not apologising for his comment, she said, "He has not apologised till now. He thinks he is a king because the public has voted for him many times. But this perception needs to change. Maybe because of his age he does not realise the gravity of the situation."
