Defamation Case Against Rahul Gandhi: Hearing Postponed to July 1

In the defamation case filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for making objectionable remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah, cross-examination of witness Anil Mishra could not be done on Monday due to the condolence motion of lawyers. Complainant's lawyer Santosh Pandey said that Magistrate Shubham Verma of the Special Court of MP-MLA has fixed July 1 as the date for cross-examination.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi is accused of making objectionable remarks against the then national president of BJP and current Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the year 2018.

In protest against Rahul's remarks, Hanumanganj resident former chairman of District Cooperative Bank and BJP leader Vijay Mishra filed a defamation case (complaint) against Rahul Gandhi in the court on August 4, 2018. In the case, cross-examination proceedings are going on with Anil Mishra, witness of complainant BJP leader Vijay Mishra.
