Harbhajan Singh Extends Support for Flood-Hit Punjab

Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has stepped forward to raise significant help for Punjab’s flood relief work. He assured continued support, saying he will do more if needed.

Punjab is currently facing severe floods. The situation remains serious due to continuous heavy rains and breaking of river embankments in many areas. Thousands of people have become homeless, crops have been destroyed and many villages are still submerged in water. In this difficult time, former Indian cricketer and current Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh has actively come forward for relief work.

Harbhajan Singh has not only helped from his MP fund but has also contributed from personal resources. According to sources close to him, Harbhajan has made a total of 11 steamer boats available for the flood-affected areas. Of these, he has bought eight boats from his MP fund and three boats from his own pocket. The cost of each boat is said to be around Rs 4.5 to 5.5 lakh. Apart from this, he has also purchased three ambulances to transport critically ill patients to the hospital.

Not only this, Harbhajan has also sought support from his friends and supporters. On his request, a sports organization donated Rs 30 lakh, while two close friends contributed Rs 12 lakh and Rs 6 lakh respectively. So far, about Rs 50 lakh has been collected for relief work. Food, medicines and other essential items are being delivered to the affected families from this amount.

Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh is constantly monitoring the situation. He has assured that more help will be provided if needed. He says that Punjab is not alone in this hour of crisis and every possible help will be provided to the flood-affected families.
