HC Orders Security for Vignesh Shishir who raised the issue of Rahul Gandhi's citizenship

Vignesh Shishir, who raised questions on Rahul Gandhi's citizenship, will now get security as per High Court’s directive to the Central Government.

The Lucknow bench of the High Court has ordered the Central Government to provide round the clock security of a personal security officer of the Central Armed Police Forces to Vignesh Shishir, who raised the issue of Rahul Gandhi's citizenship. Along with this, the Center and other parties were directed to file a counter affidavit by October 9 with the decision taken on the petition of the petitioner, which was sent from the Prime Minister's Office to the Union Home Ministry. The High Court has given this order after the petition of Vignesh Shishir, in which Vignesh had demanded security citing threat to his life.

Let us tell you that the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had closed the case of Rahul Gandhi's citizenship (Rahul Gandhi Indian Citizenship Case). The court said that the Central Government was not able to present the report of Rahul's citizenship. The petition cannot be kept pending only waiting for the report. Whenever the report is received by the central government, provide a copy of it to the petitioner and also present it in the court.

Vignesh, a resident of Karnataka, had filed this case citing Rahul Gandhi's dual citizenship. He had stated in his affidavit that Rahul Gandhi is posted as a director in a UK-based company and in the affidavit there, he has confessed that he holds British citizenship. In such a situation, how can he be an Indian citizen and if he holds citizenship, then he cannot contest elections in the country.
