DK Shivakumar Slammed by Ex-Karnataka Minister

Former Karnataka minister accused Deputy CM DK Shivakumar of abandoning Congress ideology, alleging his closeness with BJP leaders.

Karnataka Deputy CM Shivakumar has come under fire from his own party ever since he sang the RSS prayer 'Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrubhume' in the assembly. Former Karnataka minister and Congress MLA KN Rajanna has now launched a scathing attack on Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Speaking to the media, Rajanna accused DK Shivakumar of not believing in the Congress ideology and questioned his political loyalty. Rajanna said, 'He can do whatever he wants. He can sing RSS songs, share stage with Amit Shah and Sadhguru. It is said that going to Prayagraj and taking a bath in the Sangam will fill the stomachs of the poor, and he goes there.'

KN Rajanna further said, 'Rahul Gandhi himself hesitates to accept the invitation to Ambani's son's wedding, but DK Shivakumar goes to this wedding with his family. This is all, and people will decide on it.' This controversy erupted two days ago when the Assembly was debating the stampede incident at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in which 11 people died.

BJP MLAs accused Shivakumar of participating in a procession with the Royal Challengers Bangalore team from the airport to the stadium and said that this was the reason for the stampede. In response, Shivakumar surprised everyone by singing an RSS song. On this action of his, BJP MLAs welcomed this song by thumping the table and laughing, while Congress MLAs were completely stunned.

BJP MLA V Sunil Kumar commented, 'Hopefully these lines will not be removed from the record.' DK Shivakumar later clarified that there was no indirect or direct message behind his singing the song and reiterated his loyalty to the Congress party. He said, 'I have researched all political parties. I know how RSS is building institutions in Karnataka. They are opening schools in every district and taluk. I am a Congressman and will remain in Congress.'
