External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday targeted Congress and said that some people are afraid of history. He made this jibe about the Indus Water Treaty, which was suspended after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Regarding Operation Sindoor, the opposition has been accusing the government many times that Trump has got the ceasefire agreement done between India and Pakistan, although the Indian government has been denying these allegations.
During the discussion on Operation Sindoor in Rajya Sabha, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar said, "I want to tell them, they should listen carefully. From 22 April to 16 June, not a single phone call took place between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi."
Referring to history, Jaishankar said, "Some people want to forget history. Maybe it does not suit them. They want to remember only those things that please their mind."
Jaishankar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to correct Nehru's mistakes. He said, "We were told for 60 years that nothing can happen. Nehru's mistakes cannot be corrected. But the Modi government showed that it is possible. Article 370 was abolished and now the Indus Water Treaty is also being corrected."
He clearly said that until Pakistan completely stops supporting terrorism, this treaty will remain suspended. "We have warned that blood and water cannot flow together."
Jaishankar said that India is not going to repeat old mistakes now. Giving a strong message to Pakistan, he said that terrorism and water treaty cannot go together. "We have made it clear that if Pakistan does not change its policies, India will not implement this treaty."
