Veteran leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh come together again, raising concerns for Congress high command.
Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh, who came face to face with the statements made about the fall of the then Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh due to Jyotiraditya Scindia, have come together once again. The continuation of friendship can increase the difficulties of the Congress leadership in the state. Digvijay Singh had said that Kamal Nath was ignoring Jyotiraditya Scindia, due to which the government fell.

This trio can be formed by adding Arun Yadav
If this trio is formed by adding Arun Yadav in view of the 2028 assembly elections, then the bet placed by Rahul Gandhi on the youth leadership in the state can also backfire. The unity of these veterans will pose many challenges for the central leadership.
A war of words was going on between the two leaders for the last few days on the issue of the fall of the Congress government in the year 2020. Digvijay Singh had said that Kamal Nath was ignoring Jyotiraditya Scindia, due to which the government fell.
Kamal Nath had targeted Scindia
In response, Kamal Nath had said that Scindia had the illusion that Digvijay was running the Congress government, so Scindia had toppled the government. About a fortnight after this controversy, a meeting was held between the two veterans in Delhi, after which Digvijay Singh released a post on the internet media and said that there were many ups and downs in the lives of both of us, there were also differences of opinion, but there was never any animosity.
On this, the media advisor of the Congress state president KK Mishra has described both the veterans as the identity of the Congress, established faces and the ideal of the workers. He also wrote that at least I do not have the misconception that without a meaningful alliance of both of you, we will be able to achieve the goal of forming a government in the state.
This U-turn of Digvijay and Kamal Nath is being seen as a challenge for the Congress leadership. The reason for this is believed to be the neglect of both the leaders for a long time. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi dislikes both of them. After losing the 2023 assembly elections, Kamal Nath was removed from the post of state Congress president.
It is believed that the unity of both the leaders will also prove helpful for the Congress in uniting the anti-Rahul Gandhi leaders in the country including Madhya Pradesh. The most important name in this is Arun Yadav, who is the biggest face of the OBC class for the Congress in the state.
Jitu Patwari given state command
In the wake of generational change, the Congress high command handed over the command of the state to Jitu Patwari, but two years are about to be completed, till now he has not been able to show any impact. Compared to him, Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh have proved to be more influential even with less activity.
Kamal Nath's political journey of more than four decades
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath has had a political journey of more than four decades, in which he has never faced defeat in the general elections. When he got the command of the state Congress, he also brought the party back to power, whereas Digvijay Singh was the Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh for 10 years. Along with the post of General Secretary in the national organization, he has also held the responsibility of in-charge of many states. Arun Yadav has been the state president and a minister at the center.
