Maharashtra ministers' phones are being tapped! Sharad Pawar faction alleges surveillance scare
Politics
Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction has claimed that several Maharashtra ministers are switching off their phones, fearing they are being tapped. Alleging political espionage, the faction accused the government of misusing agencies to monitor opposition leaders’ activities.
These days, the issue of honeytrap and espionage is dominating the politics of Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar's NCP MLA Rohit Pawar made a big claim that some ministers of the Maharashtra government have switched off their phones due to fear of espionage. They fear that their phones are being tapped. Countering this, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has asked for proof.
Rohit Pawar posted on X on Friday (July 25, 2025) saying, "The phone numbers of some ministers are not reachable. There are rumours that they have switched off their phones due to fear of being tapped. We will tell in the coming days whether this is true or just a rumour." Rohit Pawar, who became MLA from Karjat Jamkhed for the second time, is the general secretary of the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP).
