One-day tour of Gaya ji: Asaduddin Owaisi to hold election rallies in Chakand and Sherghati

AIMIM National President Asaduddin Owaisi will visit Gaya ji today and address election rallies in Chakand and Sherghati. Party workers have completed preparations for the events.

Chakand is part of the Belaganj assembly constituency, while Sherghati is a separate constituency. Belaganj has a Muslim population of around 17.42 percent, and Sherghati has about 15.67 percent. Political analysts say Muslim votes alone are not decisive in either constituency.

Despite this, there is considerable interest in Owaisi’s visit in both areas. The party has not yet announced whether it will contest elections from these seats.

Owaisi's last visit to Darbhanga

On Monday, Owaisi addressed a public meeting in Darbhanga, targeting the Mahagathbandhan, RJD, and NDA. He said that until Muslims choose their own leaders, no one will represent them effectively. Citing the example of the Yadav community, he urged Muslims to select their own leadership.

He also accused the Mahagathbandhan of denying Muslims six requested seats, dismissing RJD leaders’ claims that no written proposal was received. Owaisi questioned Tejashwi Yadav’s statement that he had no knowledge of the issue.

Owaisi referred to the son of former Union Minister Ali Ashraf Fatmi, who contested the 2020 election on a JD(U) ticket using Prime Minister Modi’s photograph for votes. He criticised those who now insult Fatmi’s son despite his professional achievements as a doctor.

AIMIM leader Shahid Khan said Owaisi will engage directly with residents in both areas, discussing party policies and listening to local concerns. He will also highlight the party’s stance against atrocities committed against Muslims nationwide.

Owaisi’s visit has generated excitement among the district’s Muslim community. The police administration has deployed adequate forces at both locations to ensure security.
