Owaisi Jabs PM Modi Over Trump’s 56% Tariff Remark
Digital Desk
Asaduddin Owaisi mocked Prime Minister Modi, saying he’ll show his “56-inch chest” only when Trump imposes a 56% tariff, intensifying political attacks over trade tensions.
US President Donald Trump announced to impose 25% extra tariff on India on 6 August. With this, the total tariff burden on India has increased to 50%. After the US imposed an additional 25% tariff on India, Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing attack on PM Modi and the central government. The AIMIM chief said that Modi ji… will show his 56-inch chest when Trump imposes 56% tariff.
The National President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Chief posted on X and wrote that Trump has imposed an additional 25% tariff on India. This has increased it to 50%, because we bought oil from Russia. This is not diplomacy, but the bullying of a clown who clearly does not understand how global trade works.
Owaisi wrote that these tariffs will harm Indian exporters, MSMI and manufacturers.. It will disrupt the supply chain, stop foreign direct investment (FDI) and have a huge impact on jobs, but why would Narendra Modi care about this? Owaisi asked, where are those BJP strongmen now? Last time I asked whether Modi ji will show his 56-inch chest when Trump imposes 56 percent tariff. Trump stopped at 50%. Maybe he is afraid of our non-biological Prime Minister? Was selling your strategic autonomy worth it to fill the coffers of your billionaire friends?
