PM Modi in Rising North east Investors Summit: On Friday (May 23), PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Rising North East Investors Summit' at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. During this, he said that the diversity of the Northeast is India's biggest strength.
The Prime Minister said, "The Northeast is not just a direction for us, it means to empower, strengthen and bring about change. The Northeast region is seeing unprecedented progress, we are determined to accelerate its development story. There was a time when the Northeast was only called a frontier, now it is a leader in development.
He further said, "Our focus is on the future of the youth of the North East, so we made peace agreements one after the other. Gave the youth an opportunity to come into the mainstream of development. In the last 10-11 years, more than 10,000 youth have chosen the path of peace by giving up arms. Today the North East youth are getting new opportunities for employment in their own region.

PM Modi stressed, “Development of Eastern India is very important for the creation of a developed India. North East is the most important part of Eastern India. For us, ‘EAST’ does not mean just a direction. For us, EAST means, ‘Empower, Act, Strength and Transform’. This is the policy of our government for Eastern India…”
