Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed the Deputy CM for comparing MNS with the Shinde faction, recalling how comedian Kunal Kamra faced backlash for his jokes.
Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi has given a big statement. She has called it wrong to compare the actions of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and former MP of her party with the actions of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) MLA Sanjay Gaikwad.
Priyanka Chaturvedi clarified that more responsibility and understanding is expected from the leaders elected by the public. She said that the incident of Eknath Shinde faction MLA beating up a canteen employee cannot be ignored.
Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "The person who is beating the canteen employee is an elected MLA of Maharashtra. He should have shown responsibility and maturity."
Giving an example, she said that when stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra made fun of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, his supporters vandalised the studios. She said that such incidents are being seen repeatedly in the Shinde faction.
Priyanka Chaturvedi said in the case of MNS workers attacking a shopkeeper that it was not about language but disrespect. In this case, the law worked and the workers were detained. After bailable sections were imposed, they have been released on bail.
Priyanka Chaturvedi's allegation
Along with this, she alleged that no FIR was even registered against MLA Sanjay Gaikwad and neither is anyone speaking against him. Priyanka said, "I am not trying to justify anyone, I am just explaining the difference."
On the incident of allegedly slapping traders in former MP Rajan Vichare's office, Priyanka Chaturvedi said that it had nothing to do with language. She said that the matter was related to a Shiv Sena worker who was beaten up for asking for a mobile connection. Vichare called the culprits to the office and asked the reason, but the situation worsened.
