Rahul Gandhi Targets EC Over Vote Theft Allegations
Digital Desk
Reacting to alleged incidents of vote theft, Rahul Gandhi said that ensuring “one person, one vote” is the Election Commission’s duty, but accused it of failing to protect democratic rights.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again targeted the Election Commission. On the issue of SIR in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi said that there is not only one seat, there are many seats. This is being done at the national level and is being done in a systematic manner.
Rahul said that the Election Commission knows and we also know. Earlier we did not have evidence but now we have evidence. We are protecting the Constitution. 'One voter one vote' is the basis of the Constitution and it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to implement one person one vote but they did not do so. We are only protecting the Constitution and will continue to do so, will not stop.
They want to cut the votes of the public on the pretext of SIR - Akhilesh Yadav
At the same time, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said that the biggest work of the BJP is to conspire and plot. SIR could have been brought a year ago as well, on the pretext of SIR they want to cut the votes of the public on a large scale. Today the Election Commission is asking for an affidavit from Rahul Gandhi.
The SP chief said that the Samajwadi Party had informed and complained about the deletion of 18,000 votes about 2 years ago with an affidavit but no action has been taken against any officer till now.
If action is taken against even one officer or district officer, then no one's vote will be cut. BJP people used to violate rights but now they want to violate the right to vote as well.
