Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi tore posters with “SIR” written on them at the Parliament gate and discarded them in a dustbin. Meanwhile, the ruling and opposition parties reached a consensus in the all-party meeting to resume parliamentary proceedings from July 28.

Today is the fifth day of the monsoon session of Parliament. On the fifth day too, as soon as the proceedings of the House began, the opposition created a ruckus over the Bihar voter verification issue. During the proceedings of Parliament, the opposition MPs came for the bell. Earlier, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12, then 2 o'clock and then till Monday.

Opposition MPs took out a march from the Gandhi statue to Makar Dwar (entry gate of the new Parliament building) regarding Bihar voter verification. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge also participated in it. On reaching Makar Dwar, opposition MPs including Rahul-Priyanka tore posters with Special Intensive Revision (SIR) written on them. They threw them in the symbolic dustbin. Also raised slogans of Modi government down. The opposition also raised slogans in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Speaker Om Birla called an all-party meeting. In the meeting, the ruling party and the opposition agreed to run the House smoothly from July 28. Operation Sindoor will also be discussed on the same day.

Rajya Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, they (the Center) want to deprive the poor of their voting rights and want to allow only the elite class to vote… they (the central government) are not following the Constitution. Our fight against SIR will continue.
