Saurabh Bhardwaj Questions CM's Bungalow Tender Cancellation
New Delhi
AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj questioned the cancellation of the tender for CM Rekha Gupta's bungalow renovation. He alleged the "Mayamahal" project might have been scrapped due to political pressure.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised questions on the cancellation of tender for the bungalow being built for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Party's Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the BJP government has cancelled the tender for renovation of Mayamahal under pressure from Aam Aadmi Party and the people of Delhi. In this tender, it was proposed to install 14 ACs, 5 LCD TVs, microwave ovens, geysers, LEDs and other equipment.
Senior AAP leader and Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj recently told that Delhi's new Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has got two bungalows allotted for herself for the residence of two ministers, whereas earlier ministers were given only one bungalow. Separate porta cabins were available for the office, yet they rented two bungalows. After this, it was learned that PWD has issued a big tender for the renovation of his bungalow.
Saurabh Bhardwaj told that the tender mentioned the need for 14 air conditioners, five LCD TVs (four 55 inches and one 65 inches), 10-liter microwave oven (with LCD display), geyser, electric wiring, LED and other equipment. Now it has come to light that that tender has been canceled. Raising questions, Aam Aadmi Party wants to know whether there was really no need for these materials, so the tender was canceled? If there was no need, then what was the reason for issuing the tender?
Saurabh Bhardwaj raised the question whether these facilities are no longer needed. If there was no need, then what was the reason for issuing the tender, and if there was a need, then why was it canceled? Saurabh expressed apprehension that there may be a plan to provide these facilities in some other way. He also said that due to the opposition of Aam Aadmi Party and the people of Delhi, the government had to withdraw this tender. Saurabh reminded that earlier also work was done in that bungalow when the minister was there, then why was there a need for such big arrangements now. He demanded a clear answer from Rekha Gupta as to what the reality is.
