Technical Glitch Disrupts Bihar Governor’s Address; Public Voices Frustration During Live Telecast

A technical malfunction disrupted Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s address on the third day of Bihar Assembly’s winter session on Wednesday, drawing public criticism during the live telecast. The microphone repeatedly cut out or lowered in volume, leaving the Governor struggling to be heard for nearly five minutes.

The disruption caused visible confusion in the House, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other leaders looking on as officials scrambled to fix the issue. Despite the setback, Governor Khan continued his speech, requesting to speak louder to reach the assembly members.

The incident was widely noticed on social media, where viewers expressed their frustration. A user with the handle ‘Individual Tips’ asked, “Has the sound been stolen?” while Abhishek questioned the competency of the technical team. Other comments highlighted broader concerns about governance and public accountability. Nitish Kumar’s remark, “If development cannot happen in the Assembly, what will happen in Bihar?” was widely shared, reflecting public sentiment.

After the technical problems were resolved, Governor Khan resumed his address, focusing on key initiatives in education and healthcare. He highlighted that Bihar now employs 5.2 lakh teachers and is developing medical colleges across all 27 districts. IGIMS is being expanded into a 3,000-bed facility, ensuring that students no longer need to leave the state for higher education.

The Governor emphasized that these steps aim to improve access to quality education and healthcare, underlining Bihar’s progress despite earlier technical interruptions.

The Bihar Assembly session continued with adjusted microphone settings to ensure clear audio, while public attention remained on the live telecast, reinforcing the importance of uninterrupted communication in governance.

This incident underscores the role of technology in legislative transparency and the growing public expectation for smooth, real-time access to parliamentary proceedings.
