Bihar Congress has announced 'Mai Behan Maan Yojana' for women before the upcoming assembly elections. Under this scheme, every needy woman will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 per month if the Grand Alliance government is formed. Congress state president Rajesh Ram has described this scheme as an important step towards empowering women.

"It was decided in a meeting with all the allies of the Grand Alliance that women will be given respect and rights."

"We will have no limit to empower women. As much as possible will be done."

Registration process

To avail the scheme, women have to give a missed call and some necessary details. After this they will be registered for the scheme. Congress has released a missed call number for registration.

An initiative to attract women
This scheme is an initiative by the Mahagathbandhan to attract women in view of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav had also announced the 'Mai Behin Maan Yojana', under which women were promised ₹ 2,500 per month. Tejashwi Yadav had described the scheme as part of empowering women and bringing prosperity across the state.
