Why CM Yogi Made a Sharp Remark to Leader of Opposition

In the House, CM Yogi told the Leader of Opposition, “We respected you, if it was someone else we would have replied properly…”—here’s what led to this pointed statement.

As soon as the monsoon session of the UP Assembly began on Monday, SP MLAs in the opposition kept shouting slogans and creating ruckus in the House and outside the Assembly at the main gate. Recently, during the Gorakhpur visit of Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, angry SP MLAs started sloganeering by making an issue of his insult. Meanwhile, CM Yogi also retaliated to the allegations of Mata Prasad Pandey.

CM Yogi said that there is resentment against you (SP) among the traders of Gorakhpur and the state. The traders were apprehensive that no work has been done for their development, the traders respected you but if it was someone else they would have replied very properly. It cannot be expected from SP that they will talk about security and work for development or talk about democracy.

Cornering the opposition, CM Yogi Adityanath said that roads are being built in Gorakhpur by removing encroachment for development. The Samajwadi Party has not done any development work during its time and there was no agenda either. Despite this, they are also opposing the development of the BJP government. When the Leader of Opposition went to Gorakhpur to do politics, the traders of Gorakhpur opposed you. This was a protest against the fear of the collection of goonda tax among the local traders, and you had to bear the brunt of this.
