Yogi Pays Tribute: “Dr. Mukherjee Resigned for Nation’s Integrity”

On the death anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said he stood firmly for the nation’s unity and could not tolerate compromises on India’s integrity, hence resigned from the cabinet. A tribute to his unwavering nationalism.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath garlanded the statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary at Civil Hospital Park Road on Monday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had sacrificed his life for a united India on 23 June 1953. He was a great educationist, great freedom fighter and wanted to realize the dream of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

As a cabinet minister of independent India, he played a major role in deciding the industrial policy of the country by benefiting the country with his visionary leadership. As a food minister, he is also remembered as one of the first ministers of independent India who played a role. Seeing the tampering with national unity and integrity, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee resigned.

The Chief Minister said that as the first President of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had initiated a new political movement in the country. The Chief Minister said that when the then government challenged the national unity by imposing Article 370, it was opposed and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee entered Kashmir, proclaiming one country, one leader, one constitution. As soon as he entered, he was arrested and sent to jail. He was martyred inside the jail on 23 June 1953. It took 66 years for his dream to come true. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on August 5, 2019, removed Article 370 from Kashmir and fulfilled Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's dream of one India, great India and safe India.
