Ganesh Visarjan is done with the wish of Ganpati's return next year. In the 10-day long Ganesh Mahotsav, Bappa is immersed on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. People also immerse Ganpati on different days according to their beliefs. This year Ganesh Visarjan (Ganesh Visarjan 2025) will be done on 6 September.
It is believed that by immersing Ganpati in the auspicious time, a person gets auspicious results. If you are not able to get time for Ganpati Visarjan in the morning due to busy schedule, then you can also immerse Ganpati in these Muhurta (Ganesh Visarjan Evening Subh Muhurat) in the evening.

- Ganesh Visarjan Puja vidhi
On the day of Ganpati Visarjan, first of all, worship Ganesh ji with the family with proper rituals. In the puja, offer red sandalwood, red flowers, durva, modak, betel leaf, betel nut and incense sticks etc. to Ganesh ji. In the end, do the aarti of Ganesh ji and distribute prasad among all the people.
If possible, also perform havan on this day. At the time of immersion, you can also keep a bundle of laddus in the hands of Ganesh ji. It is believed that Ganesh ji returns to his home on the day of Anant Chaturdashi, so he should not be sent empty-handed. Before bidding farewell to Bappa, wish for happiness and prosperity and apologize for your mistakes. Along with this, wish that Bappa returns soon and immerse Ganpati.
During Ganesh immersion, you must chant these mantras while bidding farewell to Bappa. This gives you the blessings of Bappa, due to which auspicious results start coming in life.
