Why Are Students Protesting?

Students, rallying under the Berojgar Sena banner, gathered at Indore Collectorate on Friday, shouting slogans against MPESB. Their core demand: Revert to the 7-day rule for center allocation as mentioned in admit cards.

"Rule says 7 days before exam – city; 2 days before – exact center. But MPESB gave full location 45 days early. This gives anti-social elements time to rig the exam like Patwari 2023," said a protester holding his admit card.

They fear:

- Paper leaks via coaching-center nexus

- Dummy candidates and proxy appearances

- Center-specific toppers (like 7/10 Patwari toppers from one center in 2023)

MPESB’s Defense vs Students’ Distrust

MPESB claims:

- Early disclosure helps outstation candidates plan travel

- CCTV, biometric verification, randomized seating, and mobile jammers will ensure fairness

- Follows Central Government’s Anti-Unfair Means Bill 2024 (₹1 crore fine, 10-year jail)

But students remain unconvinced. Shubhanshu Khatri, a coaching coordinator, They told

"Vyapam’s history is stained. From PMT 2008 to Patwari 2023 – every exam had scams. Early centers = pre-planned rigging."
