Delhi Red Fort Car Blast: Terror Module of ‘Doctor Jihadis’ Busted – 9 Arrested, 600 Detained in J&K, Houses Demolished
Digital Desk
In a chilling revelation, the Delhi car blast near Red Fort on November 10 has exposed a highly educated terror network involving MBBS doctors, medical students, and a Kashmiri cleric with just third-grade education.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi Police, and Jammu & Kashmir authorities have cracked a white-collar terror module linked to banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), with plans for multiple blasts across India, including a major strike on December 6.
Key Arrests: Doctors Turned Terrorists
- Dr. Umar Nabi, the suicide bomber killed in the Red Fort blast, was identified via DNA. His house in Pulwama was demolished by J&K authorities on Thursday.
- Dr. Shaheen, a female professor at Al Falah University, had her IMA license cancelled with immediate effect. She allegedly recruited three Pulwama doctors into the terror network.
- Dr. Arif, a Kanpur-based cardiologist, arrested by UP ATS for daily communication with Dr. Shaheen and slain terrorist Dr. Umar.
- Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, who purchased ammonium nitrate illegally from Nuh, Haryana.
- Dr. Mustaqeem (MBBS from China, intern at Al Falah) and student Mohammad from Ferozepur Jhirka – detained from Nuh.
- Fertilizer dealer Dinesh Singla (Dabbu) from Pingawan, Nuh, detained for supplying explosives-grade material without license.
Al Falah University: Epicenter of Terror Recruitment
Shockingly, 40% of doctors at Al Falah University, Faridabad, are from Jammu & Kashmir, hired at lower salaries. Sources reveal Dr. Shaheen used her position in the Pharmacovigilance Committee to bring in Dr. Mujammil Ganai, Dr. Umar Nabi, and Dr. Sajjad Ahmed – all now prime accused.
“She had strong influence. No one questioned her decisions,” a female doctor told Bhaskar anonymously.
The Cleric Who Taught Terror
Mohammad Irfan, a Shopian-based madrasa teacher with only third-grade education, emerged as the ideological mentor. Arrested after printing JeM threat posters, his interrogation led to Dr. Adil Mohammad (caught on CCTV pasting posters in Kulgam).
Explosive Trail: 32 Vehicles, 4 Cars Traced
- i20 – Destroyed in Red Fort blast.
- Red EcoSport (DL10CK-0458) – Registered in Dr. Umar’s name, recovered from Khandawali, Faridabad. NIA confirms explosives transported in it.
- Brezza – Recovered.
- Swift Dzire (owned by Dr. Shaheen) – Still missing, intense search underway.
J&K Crackdown: 500 Raids, 600 Detained
In a massive operation across Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Budgam, and Kupwara, security forces:
- Detained over 600 suspects
- Conducted 500+ raids in 3 days
- Demolished terror-linked properties
Mystery Deepens: Who Was Bilal Khan?
Bilal Khan, injured in the blast and later died, was from Anantnag. No family visited him in hospital. J&K Police found his home abandoned. CCTV tracking underway to trace his Delhi movements and link with Dr. Umar Nabi.
Fallout: Fear, Stigma, and Security
- Al Falah Hospital sees sharp drop in patients; villagers avoid due to heavy police presence.
- No doctor attended Friday prayers at the university mosque.
- Fatehpur Taga villagers vow no rentals without verification after Dr. Muzammil defamed the area.
- Security tightened in Delhi, Haryana, UP, and J&K railway stations.
What’s Next?
With the Enforcement Directorate (ED) joining the probe and a camp set up at Al Falah University, investigators believe the module had nationwide blast plans. The missing Swift Dzire and 32 planned vehicles indicate a larger conspiracy.
