India's New Sprint Star: Chhattisgarh's Animesh Sets National Record in 100m Race
Animesh from Chhattisgarh has emerged as India’s new sprint sensation after creating a national record in the 100-meter race. His remarkable performance has brought pride to the state and sparked hopes for international achievements in the near future.
Animesh Kujur, who traveled from a small village in Chhattisgarh to the European track, is a topic of discussion across the country these days. On July 5, at the Dromia International Sprint Meet held in the city of Vari, Greece, he completed the 100 meter race in just 10.18 seconds and set a new record for India.
Although Animesh finished third in the race, this performance proved to be historic for India. Earlier this record was in the name of Gurinderbir Singh. Ahead of him in this race were Benjamin Richardson (10.01 seconds) of South Africa and Ali Al Balushi (10.12 seconds) of Oman.
Journey from Jashpur in Chhattisgarh to the European track
Animesh belongs to the tribal village of Ghuitangar in Jashpur district. Both his parents are working as DSP in Chhattisgarh Police. Parents say that they are proud of their son, and this is just the beginning.
