Dabang Delhi's narrow escape in tie-breaker: Tamil Thalaivas register dominant 19-point victory

Tuesday night in Kabaddi was a night of domination in both matches that took place in the SDAT Multi Purpose Stadium, Chennai. First with Arjun Deshwal's career best 26 points, Tamil Thalaivas registered a major 19-point margin victory against Patna Pirates with a 37-56 scoreline.

Meanwhile, in the second Kabaddi showdown of the evening, Dabang Delhi continued to prove again why they are the table toppers despite a strong fight from Haryana Steelers. The match went into the tie-breakers, and Delhi sealed the victory with a 9-3 scoreline with 5 raids from each side.

Haryana Steelers vs Dabang Delhi K.C.

Dabang Delhi K.C. once again showcased their class in Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League, clinching a thrilling win in a close encounter against the Haryana Steelers. It was a tie breaker between the two teams, after which the result was decided by conducting 5 raids for each side.

Earlier, the Dabang Delhi were behind in the game, but Saurabh Nandal's High Five and Ajinka Pawar's eight points brought the team back into the game. Meanwhile, Fazel Atrachali performed under pressure and notched up four points and delivered a Super Raid in the tie-breaker in his 200th PKL match.

The Haryana Steelers' Vinay and Neeraj gave a strong start to their team. After that, it was a tight contest. However, as the first half moved into its final minutes, the Steelers broke the deadlock with an impressive defensive effort, inflicting an ALL OUT to take a 16-12 lead. But Ajinkya Pawar's three-pointer Super Raid ended halftime with 18-17 and one-point lead for the former team.

Patna Pirates vs Tamil Thalaivas(56-37)

Arjun Deshwal was the star of the night for Tamil Thalaivas as he recorded his career-best 26-point performance against Patna Pirates. Eventually, the Thalaivas secured a massive 56-37 win over the Pirates.

Deshwal performed his 71st Super 10 on Tuesday, reaching among the top three players with the most Super 10s in PKL history. Nitesh Kumar also completed his High Five on the night, while Narender Kandola and Aashish chipped in with six and five points respectively. Their 56 points were also the most by a team in a match this season.

 

Neeraj Narwal inflicted some damage to the Steelers, but the scoreline stayed 27-27 till the middle of the second half. In the last minutes of the game, Fazel thrived under the pressure and brought his team to a 33-33 scoreline.

In the tie breaker, Ajinkya Pawar and captain Fazel Atrachali again maintained Dabang Delhi's domination and restricted the Haryana Steelers to just three points. Eventually, the Delhi team maintained its winning streak through a tie-breaker after a thrilling showdown vs the Steelers.
