Mark Chapman smashed an unbeaten 71 off 33 balls as Belfast Wolves defeated Glasgow Cosmic by 26 runs via the DLS method in a rain-shortened ETPL clash.

Mark Chapman produced a blistering unbeaten 71 as Belfast Wolves defeated Glasgow Cosmic by 26 runs via the DLS method in Match 13 of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) at Sportpark Duivesteijn on Friday.

The match was reduced to 12 overs per side after rain, with Glasgow Cosmic opting to field after winning the toss. Belfast Wolves posted 146/3 from their 12 overs, putting the pressure on their opponents from the outset.

The Wolves lost Tim Tector for 14 and Paul Stirling for 27, leaving them 49/2. Chapman then took charge, smashing 71 not out from 33 deliveries, including three fours and seven sixes. He reached his half-century from just 27 balls.

David Miller provided strong support at the other end, finishing unbeaten on 23 off 11 balls. The pair added 85 runs from 33 deliveries to lift Belfast from 61/3 to 146/3.

Glasgow Cosmic were set 147 to win under the revised conditions but could manage only 120/8 in 12 overs. Jason Roy led their response with an aggressive 54 off 28 balls, including three fours and four sixes, but his dismissal at 84/5 effectively ended Cosmic's hopes.

Fred Klaassen was the standout bowler for Belfast, taking 3/21, while Harry Manenti and Mark Adair claimed two wickets apiece. James Neesham's late 20 off 13 balls could not take Glasgow close to the target.

The victory lifted Belfast Wolves to seven points from five matches, moving them into second place in the ETPL standings at the halfway stage of the league. Glasgow Cosmic remained on two points from five games.
