IPL 2025: Big Blow to Gujarat Titans as Star Batter Returns Home

Gujarat Titans suffer a major setback in IPL 2025 as their star batter, who amassed over 500 runs this season, has returned to his country due to unforeseen circumstances. The franchise has officially named a replacement to fill the crucial void.

Gujarat Titans, who are moving ahead in the race for the playoffs in IPL 2025, have suffered a major setback. The team's star batsman Jos Buttler, who performed brilliantly this season, has been included in England's squad for the limited overs series against the West Indies, due to which there is doubt about his playing in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the team has included Sri Lanka's explosive wicketkeeper batsman as a replacement without wasting any time.

Let us tell you that after the Pahalgam attack, it was suspended for some time due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Now the remaining matches of the tournament are going to start afresh from May 17 and the final will now be held on June 3. Due to this change, the schedule of many foreign players has been disturbed and they are being forced to return to their respective countries.

It is worth noting that Gujarat Titans bought Jos Buttler for Rs 15.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. So far this season, Butler has batted brilliantly and scored 500 runs in 11 matches. Which included 5 half-centuries.

In view of Butler's absence, the franchise has decided to include Sri Lankan experienced player Kusal Mendis. Kusal Mendis was recently seen playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played his last match on May 7. According to media reports, Mendis has now refused to participate in the remaining matches of PSL due to security reasons.
