Jannik Sinner Enters Paris Masters Semifinals, Defeats Ben Shelton 6-3, 6-3; To Face Alexander Zverev Next

Italian tennis sensation Jannik Sinner stormed into the Paris Masters semifinals after a commanding straight-sets victory over American star Ben Shelton, winning 6-3, 6-3 in just over an hour. With this win, Sinner extended his incredible streak to 24 consecutive victories on indoor hard courts, keeping alive his hopes of challenging for the world No. 1 ranking.

The 24-year-old Italian was clinical throughout the match, breaking Shelton’s serve twice in the opening set and once more in the second to seal the win. This marks Sinner’s seventh consecutive victory over Shelton, dating back to their first meeting in Shanghai in 2023.

Sinner will now face defending champion Alexander Zverev in a highly anticipated semifinal clash. Zverev advanced after a hard-fought win against Daniil Medvedev, rallying from a set down to triumph 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7/5). The German ended a five-match losing streak against Medvedev with this crucial victory.

Speaking after the match, Sinner said, “I’m not thinking about rankings right now. I’m focused on playing my best tennis, day by day. Every match brings a new challenge.”

The Italian star has already enjoyed a stellar 2025 season, clinching four major titles — the Australian Open, Wimbledon, China Open, and Vienna Open — and is now eyeing his fifth title of the year in Paris.

In other quarterfinal results, Alexander Bublik defeated Alex de Minaur 6-7 (5/7), 6-4, 7-5 to reach his first-ever Masters 1000 semifinal, where he will face Felix Auger-Aliassime.

With momentum on his side, Sinner heads into the semifinals as one of the tournament’s hottest contenders for the Paris Masters 2025 title.
