In the quarter-final match of Duleep Trophy 2025, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) rising star Ayush Badoni batted brilliantly while playing for North Zone. He caught everyone's attention by scoring an unbeaten double century in the second innings against East Zone. Badoni scored 204* runs in just 223 balls at a strike rate of 91.48. During this, he also hit 13 fours and 3 sixes. This was the second double century of his first-class career.
Stormy batting in the second innings
North Zone's second innings started well, but Yash Dhul (133) was out at a score of 294 runs and returned to the pavilion. After this, Badoni, who came to the crease, along with captain Ankit Kumar (198), brought the team to a strong position. Both of them played an important partnership of 150 runs for the third wicket. After this, Badoni added 157 runs for the fourth wicket with Nishant Sindhu (68). During this, Badoni completed the second double century of his career and remained unbeaten till the end of the innings.
Showed strength in the first innings too
Badoni performed brilliantly not only in the second innings but also in the first innings. He scored 63 runs with the help of 7 fours in 60 balls. He was the second highest scorer in that innings. Only wicketkeeper batsman Kanhaiya Wadhawan (76) scored more runs than him. North Zone scored 405 runs in the first innings. Whereas, East Zone team was all out for just 230 runs in the first innings. Aqib Nabi bowled brilliantly for North Zone and took 5 wickets.
