Pat Cummins, Travis Head rejected IPL franchise's: Australian duo was asked to quit playing international cricket

Australian cricket stars Pat Cummins and Travis were offered approximately AUD 10 million (around ₹58 crore) to play in T20 franchise leagues around the world, but both reportedly rejected it. Notably, an IPL team group made this offer on unofficial terms.

The shocking revelation has come out of a report by the Australian newspaper Sydney Morning Herald. According to the report, the incident came to light when Cricket Australia and other officials were discussing making the Big Bash League more robust through private investment.

Notably, in the IPL 2025, Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for AUD 3.7 million (approximately ₹18 crore), while Head was acquired by the same team for AUD 1.2 million (approximately ₹14 crore).

In addition to the league money, Australia's top cricketers receive approximately AUD 1.5 million (around ₹8.7 crore) annually from national contracts. Cummins, who is the captain of the Australian team, earns a total of approximately AUD 3 million (around ₹17.5 crore) from international cricket.

Head and Cummins are permanent members of the Australian team

Travis Head will play for Australia in the upcoming T20 and ODI series against India. On the other hand, Pat Cummins, who is 32 years old, is battling a back injury. He is trying to get fit for the first Ashes Test, which starts on November 21 in Perth. Cummins recently told news.com.au that he might need three more scans before the Ashes begin to assess the condition of his injury.

Former Australia skipper said, 'Not much can be done to fix the injury. You have to gradually start the bowling process. Currently, I am working out in the gym, cycling, and focusing on resting my back. After this, bowling will be gradually increased.'
