The non-teaching staff union at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya (IKSV) staged a dharna, warning of an indefinite strike if their demands are not fulfilled. The university administration responded firmly, stating that any disruption in operations will not be tolerated.
The non-teaching staff union of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya (IKSV) held a one-day dharna at Ambedkar Chowk on Monday over their 12-point pending demands. The employees raised slogans against the university administration over demands like regularization, time-scale pay scale, promotion and amendment in service conditions. The employees have warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will go on an indefinite strike from July 17.
During the dharna, Non-Teaching Staff Union President Prakhar Sharan Singh said that they have been corresponding with the government and the university administration regarding their demands since 2024, but due to continuous neglect, the employees are forced to take the path of agitation. He said that we are raising our demands democratically and it is also our responsibility to maintain the dignity of the university, but now the employees have no option left except a do-or-die battle.
