Exam dates and passing requirement

The Class 12 Second Main examinations were held from July 8 to July 22, while the Class 10 examinations ran from July 9 to July 21. The examination gives students another opportunity to clear subjects they could not pass in the main board examination.

Candidates generally need at least 33 per cent in each subject to qualify, subject to the board’s applicable rules. Students should rely on the pass or fail status printed on the official result and contact their school if any clarification is required.

Online result is provisional

CGBSE and the National Informatics Centre state that results displayed online are meant for immediate information and cannot be treated as original marksheets. Students must obtain the original document from their school when it is issued.

After downloading the result, candidates should verify their name, roll number, subject-wise marks and overall result status. Any discrepancy should be reported promptly to the school or CGBSE through the official process.

What students should do next

Students who have qualified should retain the downloaded scorecard for admission or documentation until the original marksheet becomes available. Those who have not cleared a subject, or believe there may be an error, should ask their school about the board’s recounting, revaluation or next-examination options and the applicable deadline.

Students are advised to use only official CGBSE or NIC-hosted result pages and avoid entering their roll number on unfamiliar websites.
