CM Vishnudev Sai participates in Soherai Karma Mahotsav; applications for chemist posts open till Oct 22; Chhattisgarh faces defeat in Ranji Trophy; nursing college admission process starts today.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai will be on a visit to his home district today. He will attend the Soherai Karma Mahotsav 2025 and address a public gathering.
The Chief Minister will depart from his residence in Raipur at 11:40 AM and reach village Kandora (Gokula Ama Bagicha) at 1:10 PM, where he will participate in the program organized by the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad.
At 2:50 PM, he will leave Kandora by helicopter for Bagia (Kansabel), where he will stay overnight. His entire schedule on October 20 will remain reserved for his private residence in Bagia.
Recruitment for Chemist Posts: Applications Open Till October 22
The Public Health Engineering Department is accepting applications for chemist positions. According to the schedule released by the Vyapam (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board), the last date to apply is October 22, 5 PM.
Candidates can make corrections in their applications from October 23 to 25.
The examination will be held on December 21, from 11 AM to 1:15 PM, and admit cards will be available on December 15 on Vyapam’s official website.
Meat and Mutton Sale Banned on Mahavir Nirvana Diwas, October 21
Within the Raipur Municipal Corporation limits, the sale of meat and mutton will be completely banned on October 21 in observance of Mahavir Nirvana Diwas.
According to the Urban Administration Department, all meat shops and slaughterhouses will remain closed.
Health Officer Tripti Panigrahi informed that zonal sanitation inspectors will monitor compliance.
Ranji Trophy: Chhattisgarh Loses First Match by 9 Wickets
In the first Ranji Trophy match held at Miraj Sports Center, Rajsamand (Rajasthan), the Chhattisgarh team was defeated by Rajasthan by 9 wickets.
Rajasthan’s Manav Sudhar delivered an exceptional performance, taking 11 wickets in total.
Chhattisgarh’s second innings ended at 109 runs in 49.3 overs, with Ayush Pandey (27 runs) and Sanjeet Desai (24 runs) being the top scorers.
Scrutiny for Nursing College Admissions Begins Today
The Department of Medical Education has instructed that the B.Sc. Nursing admission process be completed during the Diwali holidays.
The scrutiny process begins on October 19 and will continue until October 22.
Both students and college administrators have expressed dissatisfaction over conducting the process during the holidays.
