FIR Lodged Over Irregularities in Bharatmala Project: Tehsildar & Patwari Held Accountable

An FIR has been registered in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district over alleged irregularities in land acquisition under the Bharatmala highway project. The Economic Offences Wing has named several officials — including the then Tehsildar Shashikant Kurre and Patwari Jitendra Sahu, Dinesh Patel, and Lekhram Devangan — along with SDM Nirbhay Kumar Sahu and others. They're accused of inflating compensation by splitting land parcels, backdating records, and potentially defrauding the government of ₹43–₹220 crore

The series of irregularities in the Bharatmala project continues. This time, an FIR has been registered in Torwa police station against the then Tehsildar and Patwari on the irregularities found in the project in Bilaspur district.

According to the information, there was a complaint of irregularity in the land acquisition process in village Dhenkha under Tehsil Bilaspur on National Highway 130A (Bilaspur-Urga) main road under Bharatmala project. Irregularities in the distribution of compensation amount were confirmed in the investigation of the district level committee.

On the basis of the report filed by the present Tehsildar Rahul Sharma on the instructions of SDM, a case has been registered against the then Tehsildar DK Uike and Patwari Suresh Kumar Mishra under sections 34, 420, 467, 468, 471.
