Hareli Celebrated at Dy CM Saw’s Residence with Traditional Fervor

Deputy Chief Minister Saw, along with his wife, celebrated Hareli by worshipping agricultural tools, feeding flour lumps to a cow, and playing the traditional game of Gidi, embracing Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage.

Chhattisgarh's first folk festival Hareli is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the state today. On this occasion, Hareli's splendor prevailed in the government residence of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw in Nava Raipur since morning. Saw, along with his wife, worshiped the plough and agricultural tools and fed flour lumps and jaggery to the cow, as well as experienced folk joy by climbing Gidi.

On the occasion of the festival, a great glimpse of Chhattisgarhi culture, folk life and traditional food was seen at the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister. The guests and common people who reached there were welcomed with Chhattisgarhi dishes like Chausela, Gulgula Bhajiya, Bada, Tomato Chutney etc. During the program, the Deputy Chief Minister also gave the message of environmental protection by planting a Sheesham plant.

Many eminent public representatives including Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwada, MLAs Rohit Sahu and Motilal Sahu participated in this traditional event. Apart from this, Raipur Municipal Corporation Chairman Suryakant Rathore, former Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Chhagan Mundhra, former Child Protection Commission Chairman Yashwant Jain, Pawan Sai and Anurag Agarwal and other guests also graced the festival.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao extended his heartfelt wishes to the people of the state on Hareli festival and said, "Hareli is the first and most important folk festival of the year in Chhattisgarh, which is completely dedicated to agriculture and farmers. Through traditional games like Gidi, this festival also causes special joy for children. Many of my childhood memories related to Hareli have been refreshed again today."
