Manendragarh, CG
A massive fire broke out late Friday night at a plastic factory located in the Chainpur area of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on November 1, reducing large quantities of plastic materials and a vehicle to ashes. The factory, reportedly owned by businessman Rafique Memon, is situated under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station.
According to locals, thick smoke was first seen billowing from the factory premises, prompting them to immediately inform the fire brigade. Within minutes, three fire tenders reached the site and launched a challenging firefighting operation. After several hours of effort, the blaze was finally brought under control.
While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, eyewitnesses suspect that sparks from nearby firecrackers may have triggered the incident. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
Upon receiving information, SDOP Alexius Toppo, Station In-charge Sunil Tiwari, local police personnel, and SECL’s fire team rushed to the spot and coordinated the operation. Authorities are currently investigating the cause and estimating the total damage.
