The members of the Mayor's Council considered and gave their consent to the work of separating waste in 6 newly built SLRM centers through Swachhata Didi and preparing compost from wet waste, purchasing material for the newly built SLRM centers under the corporation area as per the guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission.

The work of bioremediation of the remaining untreated solid waste located at Jamul near Gokul Nagar Kurud, solid waste management work under the 15th Finance Commission was passed unanimously.

Along with this, consent was given after considering the fixation of rent for hydraulic elevator and suction cum jetting machine. The members gave approval for laying sumpwell, pump house and rising main pipeline for supply of clear water from the 2.72 MLD water purification plant of Municipal Corporation Bhilai.

Mayor Council members Siju Anthony, Lakshmipati Raju, Sandeep Nirankari, Lalchand Verma, Saket Chandrakar, Keshav Choubey, Ekansh Banchhor, Aditya Singh, Chandrashekhar Gavai, Neha Sahu, Mannan Gaffar Khan, Rita Singh Gera and other officials were present in the meeting.

Lack of teachers in newly operated Atmanand schools

On one hand, the government is busy rationalizing schools along with teachers, citing the quality of education, on the other hand, even after two and a half months of the academic session, there is a shortage of teachers in Swami Atmanand Utkrishta Madhyam Vidyalayas operating from this session.

10 new Atmanand schools have been opened in the current academic session. Even after completing the process of filling the posts through deputation for recruitment of teachers in these schools, teachers have not been posted. This is the reason that there are not enough teachers in schools to teach the children. Here, quarterly examinations are expected in the month of September. The question arises that how will the children give the exam without studying?

In the current academic session, after a long struggle, 10 new Swami Atmanand schools were opened in the district. Action was taken to fill the posts through deputation to meet the shortage of teachers in a total of 10 schools including Swami Atmanand School Anda, JP Nagar, Borsi, Katro, Pauwara, Kugda, Tirga, Anjora (B), Puraina and Sector 9 Bhilai. Interviews were also conducted on 4th and 6th August. After approval from the district level committee, the proposal was sent to the Directorate of Public Instruction, Raipur.

Even after more than 20 days, teachers have not been recruited in the concerned schools. The process of filling 18 posts of English medium and 39 posts of Hindi medium through deputation has been completed. Only the order is yet to be issued. Similarly, in these 10 schools, 155 teachers have agreed to be deputed in Swami Atmanand schools. Their order has also not been issued yet.

If the contractors do not work on time, they will be blacklisted
Durg. Mayor in Council (MIC) meeting was held in the Data Center Auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of Mayor Alka Baghmar. In the meeting, many important proposals were approved while reviewing the city's cleanliness, lighting, development works, construction proposals and departmental schemes. MIC also decided that premium amount will be collected as per the collector guidelines and penalty will be imposed for making changes in the original form.

Commissioner Sumit Agarwal and MIC officers / employees were present in the meeting. Mayor Alka Baghmar said that whether it is a pipeline problem in the city or construction work, if the contractors do not complete the work within the time limit, they will be blacklisted.

The Mayor directed that the cleanliness system of the city should be improved further. For this, the employees will have to go to the streets and mohallas of the wards every day and ensure the cleanliness. Also, regular monitoring will be done on the electricity system.

Cyber ​​​​fraud of 18 lakhs with an elderly person
Bhilainagar. On using Google Pay App under Nevai police station, an unknown person withdrew about 18 lakh rupees without information. On August 28, on the report of the elderly, the Nevai police has registered a case of fraud against the unknown accused in the case.

The Nevai police said that the applicant Jayant Ram Chandel (76 years) lives in Road No. 04 Ashish Nagar East Nevai. He lodged a report that on July 7, 2025, for online transaction, tenant Akash Singh downloaded Google Pay online to put the rent amount in the applicant's mobile and sent Rs 7032, after which Akash Singh sent money from the account three times in 1 rupee to his wife's account online for the purpose of teaching, after which Jayant Ram Chandel has been cheated by an unknown person by withdrawing a total of Rs 6,72,603 ​​from the Union Bank account through UPI in various installments and a total of Rs 10,96, 941 in various installments from the SBI Bank account without the knowledge of the account holder.

Without the knowledge of the applicant, an unknown person has committed fraud by misusing the money and withdrawing a total of 17,69,544. On the report of Jayatram Chandel, the Nevai police has registered a crime under section 318 (4) BNS against the unknown accused and taken it into investigation.

Three minor vehicle thieves caught with the help of Sashakt app
