₹1.5 Lakh Stolen from Telecom Shop in Shivpuri: Thieves Enter Through Second-Floor Window, CCTV Cameras Were Off

A major theft was reported late Monday night in the busy Gurudwara Chowk area of Shivpuri city. Unidentified thieves broke into Jain Telecom by smashing a second-floor window and stole approximately ₹1.5 lakh in cash from three different drawers. CCTV cameras installed in the shop were turned off during the incident, creating hurdles in the initial investigation.

Shop Owner Found Chaos in the Morning

Shop owner Manoj Jain, who operates an online service and kiosk center, said he closed the shop as usual on Monday night. On returning Tuesday morning, he found the place ransacked and all cash drawers empty. He immediately informed the police.

Over ₹1 Lakh Was Left in One Drawer

According to Manoj Jain, he had hurriedly left over ₹1 lakh in one of the drawers and ₹30,000–₹35,000 in the other two. The thieves precisely targeted all three and took all the cash.

CCTV Cameras Were Off, No Footage Available

Although CCTV cameras were installed, they were turned off overnight due to suspected short-circuit risks. As a result, no footage of the theft is available. Kotwali police have begun investigation and are now trying to gather leads from surrounding CCTV cameras.
