Friday marked a milestone for women beneficiaries across Madhya Pradesh as Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav released the 28th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, transferring Rs.1,250 into the bank accounts of over 1.26 crore women.
The transfer ceremony took place in Petlawad, Jhabua district, where preparations for the event included constructing a helipad and a function venue, reflecting the government’s emphasis on timely fund distribution.
Under the flagship scheme, initiated in March 2023, eligible women aged 21–60 receive monthly financial assistance aimed at economic empowerment and gender parity. With the 28th tranche, the total disbursed amount has now crossed Rs.1,541 crore since inception. CM Yadav reaffirmed his commitment to increasing the monthly aide to Rs.1,500 after Bhai Dooj and further doubling it to Rs.3,000 by 2028, ensuring progressively enhanced support for beneficiaries.
The streamlined one-click transfer mechanism was lauded for its efficiency, eliminating delays and minimizing procedural hurdles. Many beneficiaries reported instant credits in their accounts, enabling them to manage household expenses, purchase essentials, and invest in small-scale income-generating activities. Local self-help group leaders in Jhabua highlighted how the stipend has been instrumental in boosting rural women’s confidence and participation in community decision-making forums.
For real-time tracking, recipients can verify payment status via the official Ladli Behna portal by entering their Samagra ID, generating an OTP, and viewing transaction details. As news of the 28th installment spread, social media buzzed with screenshots of credit notifications, underscoring the scheme’s positive reception.
By continually scaling up financial support and simplifying disbursement, the Madhya Pradesh government aims to fortify women’s economic resilience and foster inclusive growth across urban and rural landscapes.
