Tighra Dam Water Level Rises to 738.15 Feet, Orange Alert Issued

The water level of Tighra Dam has reached a critical 738.15 feet, prompting concern among authorities. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours due to expected heavy rainfall in the region.

 

Torrential rain continues in Madhya Pradesh. Due to rain, most of the rivers and streams of the state are in spate. Dams of many districts are filled to the brim. In this episode, the current water level of Tighra Dam (dam) of Gwalior has reached 738.15 feet. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert (warning) for the next 24 hours.

Let us tell you that it is raining continuously in the catchment area of ​​Tighra Dam. To maintain the water level, the gates were opened once again at 01 o'clock late night. 6693.53 cusecs of excess water is being drained by opening 5 gates of Tighra Dam by 2.00 feet. Water is being released into the Sank river. The people of the village situated on the banks of the Sank river have been alerted. 03 gates were opened at 08 pm on Sunday night. In view of the inflow of water, water has been drained from a total of 05 gates by increasing 02 gates.

After water was released from the dam, the affected areas of Gwalior district are - Village Tighra, Village Kaitha, Village Talpura, Village Mahidpur, Village Prithvipur, Village Kulaith, Village Agra Bhatpura, Village Dugnawali and Village Tilghna. The affected areas of Morena district are - Village Pahadi, Village Jakhoda and Village Bamor.
