High Court Slams Petitioners for Withdrawing Civil Revision; ₹25,000 Fine on Temple Trust, Stay Lifted on ₹1.5 Billion Land

The High Court has taken a strict stance on the withdrawal of a civil revision petition, imposing a ₹25,000 fine on the temple trust and other petitioners. The court also lifted the stay on a land parcel valued at ₹1.5 billion, citing misuse of judicial process.

The Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has shown strictness on the withdrawal of civil revision. A fine of ₹25000 has also been imposed on Ganga Das Ki Shala and other petitioners.

In fact, after 14 years, Ganga Das Ki Shala had put forth the matter of withdrawing the civil revision in the court. The High Court has expressed displeasure and imposed a cost. The stay on the hearing of the government (waiver) land worth 150 crores has also been lifted. Ganga Das Ki Shala and other petitioners will have to deposit the amount within a month. If the amount is not deposited, along with recovery action, a case of contempt will also be registered.

The Madhya Pradesh government had filed a suit in the year 2010. Through the suit, demands were made to stop the sale of government land, declare the previously executed sale deed void, and other demands. Trust Mandir Ram Janaki Ganga Das Ki Badi Shala had filed an application against the government. The civil court had rejected it on 25 April 2011. The trust had filed a civil revision in the High Court against the order. On May 7, 2011, the High Court had stayed the hearing of the case pending in the civil court.
