Indore,M.P
In a bold move to enforce road safety, Indore Mayor has written to the Collector mandating "No Helmet, No Entry" in government offices. The "No Helmet, No Petrol" rule will also be implemented across the city starting tomorrow.
Another big step is being taken regarding road safety in Indore. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava has written a letter to Collector Ashish Singh suggesting that entry without helmet should be banned in all government offices including Municipal Corporation, Tehsil, Collectorate and Police Office. In his letter, the Mayor has praised the recent decision of the Collector, in which petrol has been prohibited from giving petrol to those without helmet at all petrol pumps in the city.
Petrol will not be available at petrol pumps in Indore without helmet from August 1. This decision has been described as a step to increase awareness about road safety among the general public. Now in this connection, the Mayor has demanded from the Collector that the rule of no helmet, no entry should be implemented in government offices as well. It has been said in the letter that this will make wearing a helmet not just a legal requirement but a part of social habit.
