A Central GST raid has busted a fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) racket, uncovering GST evasion of over ₹2 crore. Authorities are investigating further links in the fraud network.
A fake ITC racket has been busted in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. After which Central GST conducted a raid late Tuesday evening. During this, GST theft of more than 2 crores has been revealed.
The government was being cheated
Actually, fraud was being done by creating fake firms. The government was being cheated through GST credit without import, export. Central GST took this action as soon as information about the fake ITC racket was received in Naugaon, Chhatarpur.
Action was taken against these three firms
M/s Anoop Traders, M/s Om Traders and M/s Yash Traders
Connection of Municipal Council President with firms!
Actually, the accused were playing the game of fake input tax credit (ITC) without actual supply of goods. Om Traders and Yash Traders were running only on paper. The mastermind of the fraud is said to be Delhi resident Arvind Kumar. Also, Naugaon Municipal Council President Anoop Tiwari is said to be connected with these firms.
