This time the festival of Haritalika Teej at Khair Mata Mandir located in village Sukhad of remote Devlaund police station area of Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh became a victim of controversy, where women and villagers were performing traditional worship with devotion, there was a dispute with a youth of the village including a relative of the MLA over playing Bhojpuri songs. The dispute escalated so much that the police had to reach the spot and intervene, the matter is of late Tuesday night.
Dispute over playing Bhojpuri song
According to the information, rural women and girls were engaged in worship and traditional programs on Haritalika Teej at Khair Mata Mandir of village Sukhad of Devlaund police station area. During this time, an argument broke out between MLA's relative Shubham Kol and village youth Mukesh Kol over playing Bhojpuri song. This dispute, which seemed minor in the beginning, soon turned into a heated argument and allegations and counter-allegations. Seeing the atmosphere deteriorating, the villagers and the sarpanch present in the temple premises had to intervene.
Police reached the spot after getting the information
Seeing that the situation was not getting under control, the villagers called on 112 and informed the police. On receiving the information, Devlaund police reached the spot with their team and pacified the dispute by counselling both the parties. Although the matter which was pacified at night, heated up again by morning and a situation of tension developed in the village.
Police station in-charge Subhash Dubey said that during the Haritalika Teej program, there was an altercation between two youths over playing songs. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and pacified the dispute. On receiving a complaint, necessary action will be taken after investigation.
