Controversy Over Student's Remark, BJP Targets Congress

The student protest in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has now sparked a national political storm. As soon as a student's statement went viral, Congress leader Digvijay Singh reposted it, targeting the government. BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma retorted by calling Digvijay and Rahul Gandhi "terrorist and ISI agents." Sharma has also demanded action against these leaders from the Supreme Court.

In fact, a student sitting on the protest in Dehradun said, "The day the youth create a situation like Nepal and the weather is bad, they won't be able to escape. If the weather is bad in Uttarakhand, even helicopters won't come to pick them up. In Nepal, leaders were picked up by helicopter; these people will be burned alive." The student also accused the Uttarakhand government of arbitrariness.

Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh reposted this video on his social media account, writing, "The youth of the country is aware. We will shut down the shops of those who fool us." Meanwhile, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma sharply retorted to Digvijay's repost. Sharma said, "They want to gain power by any means necessary. Just as Jinnah was power-hungry at the time of independence, Congress's Rahul Gandhi and Digvijay Singh are in the same state of power-hungry. These two want to burn India down."

Sharma further alleged, "Rahul Gandhi, sometimes citing the examples of Nepal and Bangladesh, sometimes Afghanistan, is inciting the youth of India. He says, 'If our demands are not met, we will set them on fire.' If our demands are not met, we cannot even lift them by helicopter; we will be burned and killed here." Sharma even went so far as to say, "I suspect that Digvijay Singh and Rahul Gandhi are in contact with terrorists, the ISI, and Maoists. They want to create an atmosphere of arson and looting in India to destabilize the Indian government. They want to burn India down to seize power." The BJP MLA added, "I will also request the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the inflammatory posts of the two leaders who started the fire and sentence them."
