Bus Rams Auto in Narmadapuram: Three Injured, Driver Booked for Negligence

A tragic road accident occurred in Narmadapuram district on Wednesday night when a Kiledar bus (MP48-P-0446) heading toward Betul collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw. The impact left three people injured, including the auto driver, Jagdish Jatav. The incident took place near Sai Krishna Resort in Badi Bahariya around 8:15 p.m. The collision was so intense that the front of the auto was completely crushed, causing traffic disruption for some time.

The injured were identified as Jagdish Jatav (auto driver), Dinesh Chaure, and Narayan Singh. Local residents helped pull them out of the damaged vehicle and rushed them to the district hospital.
According to doctors:

  • Auto driver Jagdish Jatav sustained head and left arm injuries,

  • Dinesh Chaure suffered a head injury,

  • Narayan Singh received serious injuries to his head and ribs.
All three are reported to be in stable condition.

Negligence Alleged Against Bus Driver
The injured auto driver claimed that the bus was speeding and being driven carelessly. After the crash, passengers in the bus disembarked in panic, creating chaos at the scene.
Police from Dehat station arrived promptly, restored traffic flow, and seized the bus. Preliminary findings suggest a possible steering failure, though police are verifying this claim.

Police Probe and Further Action
A team led by ASI Sukhnandan Narre and Praveen Sharma inspected the accident site. Police have registered a case against the bus driver for negligent driving and seized the vehicle for investigation.

The incident has once again raised concerns about rising cases of overspeeding and reckless driving in the district. Locals have demanded stricter night patrols and stronger traffic enforcement along this route.
