Alcohol worth Rs 1.25 lakh seized: Excise dept seize illegal liquor

Late Monday night, The Excise Department seized a large stock of expensive foreign and country-made liquor during coordinated operations across the city, officials reported on Tuesday. The department carried out raids that not only unearthed high-value consignments but also strengthened its resolve to continue decisive action against the illegal alcohol trade.

Excise department team, as per officials, raided a residential flat at Rahul Nagar Multi near the MANIT Square on Monday night. Led by Control Room in-charge RG Bhadoria, the team seized 160 bottles containing 120 bulk litres of premium foreign liquor stored illegally in House No. G-6. The cache comprised multiple expensive brands and was being hoarded for unauthorised sale.

The officials said that cases have been registered under various provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915; Sections 34(1) and 34(2); against unidentified offenders.
